David Ehrhardt is an Assistant Professor in International Development at Leiden University College (LUC). He studies issues related to development, conflict and institutions, particularly in northern Nigeria, and teaches development and African studies.

As a multidisciplinary researcher, I use mixed-methods designs to study a range of issues related to violent conflict, inequality, political authority, and citizenship. My fieldwork experience covers northern Nigeria, particularly in Kano, and the Netherlands.
